Frequently Asked Questions

What type of properties can I list on GovDeals and Bid4Assets?

If you have agency-owned real estate (or any surplus assets), you can list it on GovDeals. All tax and mortgage foreclosure sales events can be listed on Bid4Assets.

What aspects of our sales will you manage?

Our account management teams provide a variety of services surrounding your auctions including:

  • Auction Creation
  • Bidder Registration & Deposit Collection
  • Marketing & Auction Promotion
  • Bidding Procedures
  • Settlement & Post-Sale Reporting
The final sale amount must be approved by our Commission / Board / Management; can we reserve the right to approve bids and/or reject them?

Yes! Sellers always reserve the right to approve or reject the final bid on any auction.

Will you assist in the creation of the auction for us?

We can. We can also assist your staff in creating and managing your auctions themselves.

What are the costs of using GovDeals or Bid4Assets?

With no realtor fee and the option to charge only a Buyer’s Premium, using our marketplaces can be low-cost or even free for your agency to list property.

How long should the property remain at auction?

We recommend conducting a real estate auction for three to four weeks minimum. For higher-valued commercial properties or foreclosure sales, we recommend six to eight weeks. This will allow substantial time for our Marketing team to advertise the property.

What type of marketing is done for real estate?

Marketing varies based on the type and value of the real estate being sold. It can include real estate ads, social media publications, press releases, email blasts to existing bidders, and providing real estate signage for placement on location.

Can our agency set a reserve amount?

Yes. Both minimum bids and reserve amounts can be set on real estate auctions.

Can specific fees be added to the auction?

Sellers can add any fees to an auction before it opens, such as stamp fees and recording fees. These fees must be disclosed on the auction page before the start of bidding

Can a bid deposit be collected from bidders?

Yes! Bid deposits can be collected from bidders. We will recommend the appropriate amount based on the value of the property.

Can our agency sell a parcel of land only?

Yes! We are equipped to handle real estate auctions of all types.

Can our agency sell commercially zoned real estate?

Yes! Include the same information about the property (legal description and description)  as you would for a non-commercial property.

I already have a GovDeals Account, but I do not want to use it for my Real Estate sales. Can I setup a second account for these auctions?

Yes! Work with your account manager on setting up another account.
